Worthington Lab member Emily Formella earned first place at the University of Iowa Summer Undergraduate Research Conference for her work on “The role of mechanotransduction pathways in chorioretinal cell response to simulated microgravity.”

This work investigates the effect of reduced-gravity environments and is impact on cell structure and function. Emily’s research contributes to the lab’s broader goal of understanding how physical and chemical environments influence cell behavior.
