Four people

Hailey, Rich, Dr. Worthington, and Dan Meggo from the Herrmann Lab traveled to New Mexico last week for the Summer Bioengineering Conference. Rich and Hailey each gave well-received podium presentations on their research, and Dan did a great job presenting two posters. In Rich’s talk, he shared recent work on an in vitro model of outer retinal tissue stiffening to study the role of mechanical cues in age-related macular degeneration. Hailey described her recent results demonstrating the use of a biologically sourced photoinitiator system for high resolution light-based 3D printing. The conference also provided beneficial experiences for the team to interact with leading bioengineering professionals and researchers from across the world.
