Biography

Brittany Allen is a PhD Candidate in the Roy J. Carver Department of Biomedical Engineering and a graduate research assistant in the Worthington Lab. She received her BS in bioengineering at the University of Missouri. She is currently studying the influence of substrate biochemistry on retinal cell differentiation. Allen is also working on a conditionally immortalized retinal progenitor cell line and improving corneal endothelial cell transplants in collaboration with the University of Iowa Ophthalmology Department. 

Outside of the lab, Brittany is taking golf lessons and enjoys cooking, skiing, and hiking.
